Two Men Injured in Altercation Outside Southampton Residence [Update]

Around 9:10pm on Tuesday, February 3rd first responders were dispatched to a reported burglary at a Middle Road, Southampton residence located off the Railway Trail in the Granaway Heights area‎.

It appears that an altercation took place outside the premises between an alleged male intruder and two male residents of the home, resulting in the suspect and one of the residents sustaining stab wounds.

Both injured parties were taken to hospital via separate ambulances for treatment. Initial information suggests that the suspect's injuries are more serious.

An investigation into this incident is ongoing and any witnesses or persons with information should contact the main police telephone number 295-0011 or the independent and confidential Crime Stoppers hotline 800-8477.

Update: The male suspect's injuries do not appear to be as serious as initially thought and are not believed to be life threatening.

Likewise the injuries to the male Southampton resident involved in this incident are also not believed to be life threatening at this time.

More details on the conditions of both men are expected later today.
