Second Road Fatality for 2015

Around 5:55pm on Monday, January 12th first responders attended a reported serious two vehicle collision on Middle Road in Warwick near the junction with Ord Road.

It appears that a motorcyclist, believed to be a 59 year old Paget man, was riding along Middle Road when he lost control of his vehicle and collided with a car. He apparently succumbed to his injuries at the scene and was subsequently pronounced dead at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.

No further information regarding the deceased will be given until the next of kin have been notified.

Motorists should expect significant traffic delays in the area and are encouraged to use alternate routes while traffic collision investigators process the scene.

A Family Liaison Officer has been assigned to the victim’s family to assist them at this difficult time and a full investigation into this fatal collision is underway.

The Bermuda Police Service continues to appeal for any witnesses to this fatal collision to contact PC Walter Jackson at the Roads Policing Unit on 295-0011 or via email wjackson@bps.bm.

This is the second road fatality for 2015.

Update: The section of Middle Road in Warwick temporarily closed due to tonight’s fatal road collision has since been re-opened to normal traffic flow. The Bermuda Police Service appreciates the patience and cooperation of the motoring public who were inconvenienced.

It has been brought to the attention of the police that there is an image circulating on social media that depicts the victim of tonight's fatal road traffic collision.

The Bermuda Police Service would like for members of the community to refrain from posting the image as it does a disservice to the family and friends of the deceased.

If you receive the image please simply delete it immediately and do not pass it on.

As of 9:30 this evening next of kin has yet to be notified.

All incidents are under investigation. Police are appealing to members of the public who have witnessed these incidents or may have information pertaining to them to contact their respective Police Station, Police Headquarters at 295-0011 or the confidential Crimestoppers Hotline on 1 (800) 623-8477.
