Sixth Road Fatality for 2014: Jonathan Burch-DeCosta

The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 20 year old Jonathan Burch-DeCosta.

Mr. Burch-DeCosta was initially warded in the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit after the motorcycle he was riding collided with a roadside wooden railing around 1:40am Sunday, June 29th along Somerset Road in Sandys parish, in the vicinity of Ely’s Harbour. He subsequently succumbed to his injuries at 7:50pm on Tuesday, July 1st.

The Bermuda Police Service extends condolences to the family and friends of Mr. Burch-DeCosta. A Family Liaison Officer has been assigned to assist his family at this difficult time.

Inquiries are ongoing and any witnesses to this collision or persons with information regarding the whereabouts of 20 year old Jonathan Burch-DeCosta in the hours prior to 1:30am Sunday should contact the investigating officer PC Walter Jackson of the Roads Policing Unit on the main police telephone number 295-0011 or via e-mail wjackson@bps.bm.


All incidents are under investigation.
