Detective Chief Inspector Nicholas Pedro, Officer in Charge of the Serious Crime Unit - The Bermuda Police Service Serious Crimes Unit continues their investigation into what appears to be a man brandishing a large automatic firearm (“machine” gun type weapon) and attempting to discharge into a crowd of persons in attendance at Woody’s Bar in Sandys Parish. This is alleged to have occurred about 10pm on Saturday 25th August, 2012. The image below will hopefully assist in refreshing the memories of witnesses and members of the public about the possible identity of the suspect in this particular case.

Two men were arrested on Wednesday 12th September 2012, and currently remain in police custody as investigations continue.
Investigators are eager to speak with anyone that may have any information in relation to this incident whether they believe it to be important or not to contact police or the Crime Stoppers confidential hotline using the telephone numbers provided below. The potential for serious harm to occur during this particular incident was significant if the weapon had discharged.
Items seized during the course of the investigation including CCTV, and swabs from other exhibits have been sent overseas for examination and we await the results.
Other avenues of investigation continue, some of which have led to the arrest of the persons currently in police custody.
