On Friday 27th July 2012, officers from the Public Protection Department of the Bermuda Police Service conducted a search warrant at a Sommersall Road, Smith’s parish address. At the residence, officers seized a significant quantity of suspected controlled drugs, which appeared to be under cultivation.
A 38 year old male from Smith’s parish has been arrested on suspicion of cultivation of cannabis. Acting Chief Inspector Andy Morgan said, “This is another real success for the partnership between the community and the Bermuda Police Service, working together in our fight against the distribution of controlled drugs and tackling crime in general.” The suspect remains in police custody.
