CAT Officers Assist Rockville Crescent Neighbourhood Clean-Up

Community Action Team Sergeant Scott Devine - On Saturday the 7th of July officers from the Central Community Action Team, attended a neighbourhood clean-up organized by the Rockville Crescent Neighbourhood Watch Group in Pembroke.

Residents had highlighted a vacant plot of land in the neighbourhood that had been used by people to dump trash on, so residents contacted the Department of Parks who very kindly provided mulch as well as some plants. The residents along with officers from the Central Community Action Team, cleared out the trash from the area and spent the morning digging up the land, raking the dirt and with the assistance of some of the younger area residents planting various forms of foliage to improve the overall look of the area.

Rockville Crescent Neighbourhood Watch Group continues to work as a unified community to tackle the issues in their neighborhood and are a great example of the power of a committed neighborhood and the changes they can make.

All incidents are under investigation. Police are appealing to members of the public who have witnessed these incidents or may have information pertaining to them to contact their respective Police Station, Police Headquarters at 295-0011 or the confidential Crimestoppers Hotline on 1 (800) 623-8477.
