Around 11pm on Saturday, December 10th two unknown men on a motorcycle were traveling through the Somerset Road, Cambridge Road Sandys parish area when the pillion passenger discharged a firearm in the direction of a group of men standing outside Long Hours Variety store.
Police were on mobile patrol in the vicinity and immediately pursued the suspects who made good their escape traveling east along Somerset Road. The scene was cordoned off and forensic evidence found suggested that a firearm had been discharged; however no one has reported being injured.
Officers conducted a further search for the offenders in the Alton Hill, Southampton area; however they were not located. The main suspect is described as wearing a silver helmet while the motorcycle rider is described as wearing a dark coloured jacket.
Following that incident around 12:30am on Sunday, December 11th police received a report of gunshots in the Border Lane East, Devonshire area. Officers promptly responded to the scene and seized evidence for forensic examination. A motorcycle was also impounded in the vicinity. There were no reported injuries. The Bermuda Police Service is not at this stage linking the two incidents.
