Police Week 2011 - Police Gymkhana
|
Police Week 2011 started at 10am on Saturday, October 1st with the Police Gymkhana. The popular community event saw a good turnout despite the predicted weather with the approach of Hurricane Ophelia. Some young people and their parents even arrived before 10am to get an early start to the festivities. Food and soft drinks were provided for the participants and volunteers, while helmets and bicycles were also supplied for those youngsters who wanted to compete but did not have the necessary equipment. A friendly rivalry between dignitaries such as H.E. The Governor Sir Richard Gozney, Commissioner of Police Michael DeSilva, Commissioner of Corrections Lt. Col. Edward Lamb, Commanding Officer of the Bermuda Regiment Lt. Col. Brian Gonsalves and Chief Fire Officer Vincent Hollinsid was one of the highlights of the event. More photos. |
