Fatal RTC

The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 60 year old Gladwin Gilbert. Mr. Gilbert was pronounced dead at 11am on Tuesday, December 14th 2010 in the Intensive Care Unit of the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital. He succumbed to injuries sustained in a serious road traffic collision that occurred around 10:20am Friday, December 10th on Parsons Road in Pembroke when the pedal cycle he was riding was in collision with a motorcycle ridden by a 59 year old Devonshire woman. She was initially treated for her injuries on a general ward at the hospital but has since been discharged.

The Bermuda Police Service extends condolences to the family & friends of Mr. Gilbert. Inquiries into this incident are ongoing. Police are continuing to appeal for any witnesses to this collision or anyone with any information to contact PC Bianca Glasford of the Roads Policing Unit on 295-0011.

The death of Gladwin Gilbert marks the 12th road fatality for 2010.


All incidents are under investigation.
