Update - Confirmed Firearm Incident in Sandys Parish

Detective Chief Inspector Nicholas Pedro, Officer In Charge of the Serious Crime Unit – Detectives in the Serious Crime Unit are actively investigating the shooting of a 19 year old male who had disembarked a public bus that made a stop at the White Hill Field at 6:30pm Monday. The bus had been travelling towards the City of Hamilton.

The victim sustained injuries which are believed to be non-life threatening. He is currently in treatment at the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.

Police are particularly interested in speaking with persons who were on this bus, and also persons who were in the car park of the “Maximart” at the time of the shooting.

It is believed two persons on a motorcycle discharged a firearm at the victim after he had gotten off the bus. Following the shooting, the gunmen were seen to ride towards the Somerset area.

Anyone that was in this area or on the bus in question is urged to contact the Serious Crime Unit on 299-8106. Also, anyone that has information about the incident can pass the information anonymously to the independent & confidential Crime Stoppers Bermuda hotline at 800-8477.


All incidents are under investigation. Police are appealing to members of the public who have witnessed these incidents or may have information pertaining to them to contact their respective Police Station, Police Headquarters at 295-0011 or the confidential Crimestoppers Hotline on 1 (800) 623-8477.
