Ten new Police recruits are currently on Recruit Foundation Course (RFC) #73, a 25 week training course which started on Monday, August 30th 2010. They are:

The recruits consist of six men and four women, nine Bermudians and one spouse of a Bermudian originally from Jamaica. They range in age from 19 – 42 years old. During the 25 week training course the recruits will be trained in law & procedure as well as the practical aspects of policing. They will also receive officer safety training, physical training and learn drill.
In addition, during the course there will be two operational breaks of three weeks each where the recruits will be deployed on to the streets for practical application of what they have learned before returning to the classroom to discuss their experiences.
The aim of this course is to produce ‘omni-competent officers’ with training in all the necessary aspects of policing who are also trained police drivers. |
