Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses to a confirmed firearm incident that occurred around 1:15am on Friday in the Elliot Street, Pembroke area, where a firearm was discharged at the victim, a 24 year old Pembroke man, who was injured as a result. He was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital and remains in a stable condition.
Police are conducting inquiries and have collected forensic evidence from the scene. Investigators are interested in speaking with anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity involving individuals or vehicles in the Elliot Street area around 1am on Friday.
Assistant Commissioner of Police David Mirfield:
“This is the second shooting incident to be reported this week and once again I appeal for witnesses to come forward. Sadly on this occasion a man has been seriously injured and while it would appear that this is a dispute between known individuals, the police still need all the support it can get to apprehend the offender(s). I would also appeal for calm; it is clear that tensions are always heightened following such incidents and the police will be out in force in the area this evening and over the weekend.”
