The Bermuda Police Service is continuing its investigation into the shooting of a 44 year old man near Cambridge Road on Friday afternoon. The victim is listed as being in stable condition at the hospital. Acting Chief Inspector Calvin Smith of the Serious Crime Unit is leading a team of detectives in this investigation, and they currently have a 19 year old man in police custody in connection with the case.
A number of witnesses have provided statements and the Bermuda Police Service would like to take this opportunity to publicly thank everyone who has come forward so far to assist the investigation. Detectives are still interested in speaking with anyone who was in the area of Cambridge Road before or after 5pm on Friday and anyone who has information about this case should be encouraged to call the police on 299-8115 or the confidential Crime Stoppers Bermuda hotline at 800-TIPS (8477). |
