Confirmed Firearm Incident at Victor Scott

The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 35 year old Kimwandae Walker of Pembroke. Around 2:20 p.m. today, the Bermuda Police Service received a report of gunshots at Victor Scott Primary School. It appears that two men on a motorcycle rode on to the field and shot a 35 year old Pembroke man. The suspects made good their escape. The victim was rushed to KEMH via ambulance; however he succumbed to his injuries. The Bermuda Police Service extends our condolences to his family and friends.
At the time of the shooting, there were a number of patrols in the area because of planned activity by the Bermuda Police Service to address the rising firearms incidents. As a result, police units were on the scene within minutes of the shooting.
An investigation is underway into this matter. There were several witnesses to this brazen shooting as a family fun day was taking place on the grounds of Victor Scott Primary School at the time.

We must reiterate that the Bermuda Police Service is working tirelessly to combat these brazen crimes. We urge the community to say enough is enough and work with the police so we can prevent these crimes and obtain enough evidence to convict those involved. |
