Causeway To Close Until 8.00 P.M.

 From the Government Department of Communication & Information (DCI) - The Bermuda Weather Service (BWS) is advising that wind gusts of 67 knots have been experienced in the vicinity of the Causeway Bridge.
As a result and in the overwhelming interest of public safety, a decision has been made by the Emergency Measures Organisation (EMO) to close the Causeway Bridge effective immediately until 8.00 p.m. tonight.
The Causeway will be closely monitored by the Bermuda Police Service and the Ministry of Works and Engineering and once a decision has been made to reopen the bridge, the public will be advised accordingly.

All incidents are under investigation. Police are appealing to members of the public who have witnessed these incidents or may have information pertaining to them to contact their respective Police Station, Police Headquarters at 295-0011 or the confidential Crimestoppers Hotline on 1 (800) 623-8477.
