Injury RTC

First responders (Bermuda Police Service, Bermuda Fire & Rescue Service and Ambulance) attended a multi-vehicle collision that took place at 2:40pm today on Barnes Corner in Southampton. It appears that a government trash truck was traveling east on Middle Road when the driver lost control of the vehicle and collided with two cars and a SUV traveling in the opposite direction. The drivers of the three vehicles, two women and a man, escaped with minor injuries. The trash truck had 3 occupants – two escaped injury while the driver was trapped inside the vehicle. It took Fire & Rescue Service personnel around 20 minutes to extricate the individual. He was taken to KEMH via ambulance for treatment of neck & back injuries which are believed to be non-life threatening. The drivers of the other vehicles were also taken to KEMH for evaluation. Traffic was diverted for approximately 3 hours. Inquiries into this incident are underway.


All incidents are under investigation.
