Injury RTC in Southampton

Around 12:30pm today, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on Middle Road in Southampton near the junction with Rosehill Road. The Bermuda Fire & Rescue Service also attended the scene. It appears that a car was traveling west on Middle Road while a car and a motorcycle were traveling in the opposite direction when the motorcycle collided with both cars. The rider of the motorcycle, a 20 year old St. George’s man, reportedly sustained facial injuries as well as injuries to his left shoulder, arms and feet. He fled the scene on foot prior to Police arrival; however, he was subsequently located by Police in the George’s Bay Road/Railway Trail Southampton area and taken into custody. The motorcycle’s passenger, a 24 year old Sandys parish woman, reportedly sustained facial injuries as well as injuries to her arms & feet. The drivers of both cars, a 32 year old Devonshire woman and a 52 year old Warwick man, were not injured; however the Devonshire woman was taken to KEMH for treatment of shock. The motorcycle was extensively damaged while the cars received front end damage and rear end damage respectively. The collision caused traffic delays in the area. Inquiries into this incident are underway.


All incidents are under investigation.
