Chief Inspector Nicholas Pedro - The Bermuda Police Service can confirm the shooting death of Perry Mosley Puckerin and extends sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Mr. Puckerin. Mr. Puckerin was shot down in the prime of his life at 34 years old.
Mr. Puckerin was shot by an assailant at the entrance to Hamilton Parish Workman’s Club and Police are treating this as a case of murder. A forensic pathologist is working with the Bermuda Police Service and we expect this aspect of the investigation to be completed in the following days.
An Incident Room is working on this investigation and I would urge anyone that has any information to call investigators on 295-0011.
I will not provide specifics, but forensic evidence has been recovered from the scene and a team of detectives under my command is working diligently on this investigation.
There were several patrons in the club at the time, some of whom have witnessed this event, and the investigating team is working to extract as much information from these witnesses as possible. We also know that some people that witnessed this event have not yet spoken to the Police and we will be identifying these persons. What I would ask is, “Do you want the culprit to get away with this callous murder? If Perry was your brother, father or friend, would you want this matter to go unsolved? We are aware people may be scared to come forward but the Bermuda Police Service will treat any information with the utmost confidence and we will work to secure the safety of any key witnesses that can assist in bringing the offender to justice.”
The Bermuda Police Service is exploring several avenues of enquiry and further updates on the progress of these enquiries will be provided regularly to the family and the media. |
