Court Appearance by Former Probationary Constable Relating to Accessing Child Internet Pornography

On 9th November 2009 the Bermuda Police Service (BPS) announced the establishment of a task force within the Vulnerable Persons Unit to conduct investigations into offences relating to child internet pornography.

We reported that several persons had been identified including a probationary Police Constable who has now been dismissed from the Service. This morning 41 year old Paul Boorman appeared at Magistrates’ Court charged with 15 counts relating to accessing child pornography.

Enquiries into this case and others will continue. The Bermuda Police Service takes the matter very seriously indeed and is committed to taking every opportunity to bring offenders to justice.


All incidents are under investigation. Police are appealing to members of the public who have witnessed these incidents or may have information pertaining to them to contact their respective Police Station, Police Headquarters at 295-0011 or the confidential Crimestoppers Hotline on 1 (800) 623-8477.
