Industrial Accident

Around 9:40 this morning, Police received a report of an industrial accident at a Mid Ocean Drive, Hamilton parish construction site. It appears that a crane was working in the area when it went down a steep hill and the operator, a 50 year old Pembroke man, was unable to bring it to a stop. The Pembroke man then jumped from the machine, sustaining a fractured right arm & hip. The crane ended up on its side and received moderate damage. The victim was taken to KEMH via ambulance for treatment of his injuries, which are not believed to be life threatening. The Government Health & Safety Officer was notified of the incident and inquiries by that department are anticipated. |
All incidents are under investigation.
