Bermudian Sentenced in the US on Drug Charges - Correction

Correction - The weight of the seizure was in fact 1,000 kilos (and not 2,000 as earlier stated) and equates to about one ton. The Bermuda Police Service apologizes for the error. It is certainly the largest seizure in recent history.

Bermudian Norman O’Donnell Rayner and US citizen Edward Kenny were charged with offences of:

  • Conspiracy to transport narcotics aboard a vessel;
  • Possession of narcotics aboard a vessel with intent to distribute.

Mr. Kenny was sentenced to 6 years imprisonment in a Miami Court on Friday 1st August 2008.
