Serious Sexual Assault

In the early hours of Saturday, June 18, 2005 Police received a report of a serious sexual assault. It appears that around 3am that morning, a 24 year old white female Bermuda resident was on Bermudiana Road in Pembroke and got into a car, which left the area heading in a westerly direction. There were people in the area at the time she entered the vehicle; however, there was nothing significantly suspicious about the situation at that time.

Police have been actively investigating this incident with an investigative team of 10 officers under the direction of Detective Inspector Tracy Adams, and they are being supported by other units of the Bermuda Police Service. They have been conducting lines of inquiry of a sensitive and delicate nature. We are asking for members of the public who were in the area at the time to contact Detective Inspector Adams on 299-4407, the Police Hotline on 295-1140 or the confidential Crimestoppers Hotline on 1-800-623-8477. Police are also encouraging the public to check the Bermuda Police Service website for information and updates on this incident.

The individuals we are interested in speaking with are described as four black males, between 18 and 25 years of age. We are also appealing for the taxi driver who may have picked up the victim in the western area and taken her to her residence. In addition, we are interested in any information about the car being driven by one of the four individuals. Police are strongly encouraging the individuals involved in this incident to contact Detective Inspector Adams or Detective Sergeant Kevin Christopher on 299-4407.

All incidents are under investigation. Police are appealing to members of the public who have witnessed these incidents or may have information pertaining to them to contact their respective Police Station, Police Headquarters at 295-0011 or the confidential Crimestoppers Hotline on 1 (800) 623-8477.
