At 5:30pm on Sunday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on Church Street in Pembroke near the junction with Parliament Street involving a motorcycle and a pedestrian. It appears that the motorcycle was traveling east on Church Street when the rider, a 19 year old Pembroke man, stopped at the junction of Church Street and Parliament Street as the traffic light was red. When the traffic light turned green, the Pembroke man rode off; however he lost control of the motorcycle which went across the road and struck the pedestrian, a 7 year old Sandy's parish girl. She sustained cuts and abrasions and was taken to KEMH via ambulance, treated for her injuries and later released. The rider of the motorcycle was subsequently arrested. Inquiries into this incident are ongoing. |
All incidents are under investigation.
