Teenager Arrested After High Speed Chase in Paget

A few minutes after 2pm today several Police Motorcycle Units were involved in a high speed chase from Rural Hill, South Road and it ended on St. Michael's Road in Paget. The rider, a 16 year old male attempted to push a police motorcyclist off his motorcycle, he then failed to stop and eventually dropped his cycle and attempted to flee on foot.
Due to the combination of assistance provided by St. Michael’s Road area residents, a police K9 and additional police units called in to the area the suspect was apprehended and detained.
Single Vehicle Motorcycle Collision in Hamilton Parish

First responders attended a report of a single vehicle collision that took place on Tuesday evening at 8:40pm on North Shore Road 300 meters east of the Aquarium.
It appears that a 39 year old St George's man was traveling on that said road when he lost control of his motorcycle and hit a wall. The man was taken to the hospital where his injuries do not appear to be life threatening. Traffic Collision Investigators were called out and this caused that stretch of road to be blocked off as traffic was diverted to alternative routes.
Ten Year Old Pedal Cyclist Dies in Collision [Updated]

Around 6:15pm on Saturday, January 11th first responders were dispatched to a reported serious collision in the Camp Hill Southampton area, near Tribe Road Number 1.
It appears that a ten year old girl riding a pedal cycle collided with a pole. She was seriously injured and taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance where she later succumbed to her injuries. No further information will be given until the next of kin have been notified.

The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 21 year old Nikko Robinson-Woodley of Friswells Hill Road, who died as a result of a single vehicle road traffic collision that took place on Harrington Sound Road just east of Paynters Road in Hamilton Parish.
It appears that around 12:55am on Saturday, a car was traveling on Harrington Sound Road when the driver of the car lost control of his vehicle and hit a tree. Nikko was taken to the hospital via ambulance where he later was pronounced dead at 2:08am.

Sudden Death of Steve Cummings

The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 66 year old American Steve Cummings and extends condolences to his family & friends.
Around 12:30am on Wednesday, December 11th police and Bermuda Radio received a report that the Florida resident’s vessel required assistance in the waters off the North Shore in the area of Black Watch Pass.
The police Marine Unit responded and conducted an overnight search of that maritime area for the vessel; however tragically a debris field was subsequently established.

Inter-Services Press Release - Today the Bermuda Police Service in partnership with The Bermuda Fire & Rescue Service, The Bermuda Regiment and the Department of Corrections presented the Bermuda Hospitals Charitable Trust with a cheque for $20,480.00 to benefit the “Why it Matters” campaign.
This announcement is made following the Inter-Service Golf Tournament held on Friday, October 25th, 2013, which had the charitable aim of supporting the redevelopment of the hospital.

Around 12:30am on Wednesday, December 11th police and Bermuda Radio received a report of a man in a marine vessel in distress in the waters off of North Shore and Black Watch Pass.
A maritime search for the vessel ensued and a debris field was established. Around 7:50am a man’s lifeless body was found, believed to be the missing sailor, who was apparently traveling with his two cats.
Reported Serious Collision in Devonshire

Police responded to a report of a road traffic collision that took place on Saturday night at 9:45pm on Poinciana Road in Devonshire. It appears that a 55 year old Pembroke man was traveling north on that said road when it appears that the Pembroke man lost control of his motorcycle and hit a wall.The man was taken to the hospital where he is presently listed in critical condition. Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone who may have seen this collision to contact PC Milen Simons on 295-0011.
Reported Gunshots Fired in Warwick: No Injuries

At approximately 5:15pm police responded to reports of gun shots being fired on Middle Road in Warwick. Upon police arrival it was ascertained that two men on a motorcycle discharged a firearm in the area of Middle Road behind the Money Shop, however no one was injured.An active search for the suspects has commenced and the scene is being forensically processed.
Accused Appears in Supreme Court for Stefan Burgess Murder

Acting Superintendent Nicholas Pedro - 24 year old Julian Markus Washington appeared in Supreme Court today, charged with the murder of Stefan Burgess. Members of the public will recall that Mr. Burgess was shot and killed inside a Glebe Road residence in the evening hours of Sunday 8th January, 2012. Another victim was also shot & injured at the same location.
The charges follow a lengthy investigation by members of the Bermuda Police Serious Crime Unit. Washington pled ‘not guilty’ to the four charges put to him of:-

The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 24 year old Uthmani Talbot of Smith’s parish.
Mr. Talbot was seriously injured when the motorcycle he was riding apparently collided with a wall and a parked car on Harrington Sound Road in Smith’s parish near the junction with Harrington Hundreds Road around 3:20am Saturday, November 30th.
He was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance where he was later pronounced dead at 3:45am Saturday by an on call doctor.

Due to apparent roadwork in the Reid Street and Parliament Street area, motorists traveling into the City of Hamilton are advised to avoid that area and take alternate routes where possible.
In addition, those driving into the city should expect some delays until this roadwork is completed. The patience and cooperation of the motoring public is greatly appreciated regarding this matter.

It appears that a 24 year old Smith's man was traveling east on that said road when he lost control of his motorcycle and appears to have collided into a wall and parked car. He was taken to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

John joined us from Hempstead, Hertfordshire UK as a Crime Scene Investigator (Support Staff) in October 2011. He passed away at the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital this morning.
Two Vehicle Collision in Paget Tonight

First responders attended a report of a road traffic collision that took place at 7:26pm on Wednesday evening on South Road in Paget in front of Ice Queen. It appears that a car collided with a cycle at the entrance and this resulted in the motorcyclist and his passenger being taken to the hospital. The rider, a 50 year old man is being treated for what is believed to be leg and back injuries while the passenger and the driver of the car were uninjured.

At 8:40pm first responders attended a report of a road traffic collision on East Broadway in the area of the Rubis Gas Station and Blue Waters Anglers Club in Pembroke.
It appears that a cycle was traveling east and another west when it appears that the cycles collided. Both victims were taken to the hospital where both are being treated for what at this point is being described as serious injuries.
Four Burglary Suspects Arrested in Warwick

Acting Inspector Alex Rollin - This morning at about 11am police officers responded to a burglary in progress in the Rockland Crescent and Rockland Estate area of Warwick. On arrival police officers managed to find three persons, who were arrested. A fourth suspect fled from the house and eventually barricaded himself in a house close by. Officers responded to that residence. They put on a containment around that residence and eventually with the help of a crisis and hostage negotiator the person was brought out of the house and duly arrested.

At a 7pm Passing Out Ceremony on Thursday, November 14th held in the Prospect Police Recreation Club hall at Police Headquarters Devonshire, 19 men and women officially became Reserve Police Constables.
Dignitaries present at the ceremony included Commissioner of Police Michael DeSilva, Deputy Commissioner Mike Jackman, Assistant Commissioner Paul Wright, Acting Commandant Cannoth Roberts, Reserve Superintendent Sandra Beach and Reserve Chief Inspector Arnim Donawa as well as numerous family, friends and colleagues.
