Mr. & Mrs. Robinson Unnatural Deaths Investigation

Acting Superintendent Nicholas Pedro, Officer in Charge of the Serious Crime Division - Detectives from the Serious Crime Unit of the Bermuda Police Service continue to investigate the deaths of Mrs. Regina Robinson 48, and Mr. Anthony Robinson 49 – both of St. George’s parish. The deaths appear to be as a result of acute wounds to both bodies, and the circumstances of their deaths dictate that a comprehensive and thorough investigation will be conducted. A forensic autopsy will be conducted to determine the precise manner of death.



Married Couple Found Dead in St. George's Home

Acting Superintendent Nicholas Pedro, Officer in Charge of the Serious Crime Division - At about 2:25pm this afternoon, Bermuda Police Service responded to a report at 32 Wellington Slip Road, St. George's. On arrival they found a male and a female, 48 and 49 years old respectively, and they were found to be and determined to be deceased. I can confirm that they are a married couple and they appeared to be suffering from injuries that appeared to have caused their death.



Reported Serious Collision in Pembroke

Police responded to a report of a road traffic collision that took place on Sunday night at 10:10pm. It appears that two vehicles, a car and a motorcycle, collided in the area of Marsh Folly Road by the Tennis Stadium. As a result, a 34 year old man was taken to the hospital with what are believed to be serious head injuries. Traffic Collision Investigators were called to the scene and an investigation into the collision has begun.



New Commandant & Deputy Commandant Sworn In

At a 5pm Swearing In Ceremony on Thursday, March 6th held in the Prospect Police Recreation Club hall at Police Headquarters Devonshire, Commandant Designate Cannoth Roberts and Deputy Commandant Designate Ron-Michel Davis were officially sworn in as Commandant and Deputy Commandant of the Bermuda Reserve Police respectively. Mr. Roberts was formerly Deputy Commandant while Mr. Davis was formerly a Reserve Police Chief Inspector.



Book Launched to Assist Families of Fatal Collision Victims

"Someone has died in a road crash" - A partnership between the Bermuda Police Service (BPS) and East End Telecom. Like adults, children affected by road death and injury need loving support and information. It is often better to tell children things through honest discussion and involve them in decision making rather than keep them in the dark and leave them excluded in an effort to protect them from the truth. Thanks to the support of our partner East End Group, the BPS is pleased to announce that they will be able to supply this free book to children bereaved by road crashes.

While this borderless access has many advantages, it also allows those who would sexually exploit children to communicate with like-minded individuals, more importantly locating their next victim.



Reported Missing Person: Kanaz Tuzo [Located]

The Bermuda Police Service is appealing for the public’s assistance in locating 30 year old Kanaz Tuzo, who has apparently been missing since Monday, February 24th. Mr. Tuzo is described as light complexioned, 5’8” tall of thin build weighing 150 pounds, with curly low cut hair. He may be wearing a green/brown bubble jacket, jeans and brown shoes. In addition, Mr. Tuzo typically travels by bus or on foot.



Fourth Road Fatality of 2014

Police responded to a report of a serious single vehicle road traffic collision that took place on Crow Lane at 11:24pm on Wednesday night. It appears that a 36 year old Warwick man was traveling east on his motorcycle when he lost control of his cycle and collided into the bus shelter. The 36 year old man was taken to the hospital where he later was pronounced dead. No further information will be given until the next of kin has been notified.



Reported Missing Juvenile: Darius Usher [Located]

The Bermuda Police Service is appealing for the public’s assistance in locating 16 year old Darius Usher, who has apparently been missing since Wednesday, February 19th. He is described as brown complexioned of slim build, 6’ tall with an afro. The teenager was last seen wearing blue jeans, a striped shirt and construction type boots.



Police Motorcycle Collision

Police responded to a report of a road traffic collision that took place a few minutes after 12pm today. It appears that an officer was participating in a training course for Police Motorcyclists, when the officer lost control of his cycle and ended up in the marsh area just east of Barnes’ Corner. The officer was transported via ambulance to the hospital with what appears to be non-life threatening chest injuries. Inquiries into this matter are ongoing.



Death of Anthony Edwards

Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 51 year old Anthony Edwards who has succumbed to serious injuries suffered in a road traffic collision on Thursday February 6th at 3pm. Mr. Edwards had been travelling in a westerly direction on his motorcycle when he was involved in a collision with an open-back intermediate truck that was exiting Marley Beach Drive in Southampton Parish.



Police Seeking Cinamin Lovell Grant [Arrested]

The Bermuda Police Service is seeking assistance in locating 22 year old Cinamin Lovell Grant. A warrant has been issued for her arrest after she failed to appear in court to answer a charge of threatening behaviour. Anyone with information on her whereabouts is encouraged to contact the main police telephone number 295-0011 at the earliest opportunity.



CCTV Expansion Plans

Residents Invited to Help With Photographic Police Tribute

In October the Bermuda Police Service will celebrate 135 years of policing during Police Week 2014, with several community related events scheduled. Motorcyclist in ICU After Reported Serious Collision in Warwick

Around 3pm on Thursday, February 6th first responders were dispatched to a reported serious two vehicle collision at the junction of South Road and Marley Beach Drive in Warwick. It appears that a motorcycle was being ridden along South Road and a truck was exiting Marley Beach Drive when the vehicles collided. The injured motorcyclist, believed to be a 51 year old Warwick man, was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment



2013 Fourth Quarter & Year End Crime Statistics

Commissioner of Police Michael DeSilva - I am pleased to present what amounts to quite a positive year-end report on crime statistics for 2013. The overall picture is the long-term trend of total crime in Bermuda continues to be decreasing, and for the first time in five years, all major crime categories are also on a decreasing trend. Comparing 2013 with the previous year: total crime is down from 3,990 offences to 3,480 – a reduction of 12.8%. Total crime for the year, and total crime for the 4th quarter of 2013, both stand as the lowest crime rates recorded in the last 14 years. Comparatively, total crime has fallen by 43% since the year 2000.



Reported Missing Juvenile: Ngena Woods [Located]

The Bermuda Police Service is appealing for the public’s assistance in locating 17 year old Ngena Woods, who has apparently been missing since Thursday, January 23rd. She is described as tall and dark complexioned, weighing around 130 pounds with long black hair. Ngena is known to frequent the Southside Road, St. George’s area.

Hampshire Constabulary Bermuda Special Constables Sworn In

Today, Wednesday January 22nd, officers from Hampshire Constabulary became Special Constables for the Bermuda Police Service, enabling them to effectively investigate serious crimes onboard Bermuda registered vessels in Hampshire ports. A total of 16 staff from the Hampshire Major Investigation Team – 14 detectives and two police staff investigators – were formally sworn in as Special Constables by Commissioner of the Bermuda Police Service Michael DeSilva, at a ceremony also attended by Hampshire Chief Constable Andy Marsh and Hampshire Police & Crime Commissioner Simon Hayes.



Police Seeking John O’Connor [Arrested]

Police are seeking the public’s assistance in locating 26 year old John O’Connor who is known to frequent the Eastern and Central Parishes. He is described as a light complexioned male, thin build, approximately 5’8" tall and between 145-160 pounds. O’Connor is wanted by police for an outstanding matter and anyone who knows his whereabouts is encouraged to contact DC Jason Trott on 717-2261. Update: The Bermuda Police Service would like to thank the public for their assistance in locating 26 year old John O'Connor. He has since been arrested.
