Shots Fired in Southampton: No One Injured

At around midnight police received several 911 calls of gunshots being heard in the South Road area of Southampton. Upon police arrival, it was forensically confirmed that a firearm was discharged in the parking lot area of Southampton Rangers Sports Club, however it does not appear that anyone was injured. Police have commenced an investigation into this incident and are appealing for anyone who may have seen two males on a motorcycle wearing dark coloured clothing leaving the incident in a westerly direction to contact the police on 295-0011 or the anonymous and confidential Crime Stoppers hotline on 800-8477.



Appeal for Information on the Whereabouts of Jevon Daniels

Today at a press conference held at Hamilton Police Station, Ms. Gloria Daniels along with police appealed to the public for their assistance with locating 35 year-old Jevon Daniels. Mr. Daniels was last seen on 16th May 2016. Anyone who may have information on the whereabouts of Mr. Daniels should call Sgt. UK Overseas Territories Join Forces with IWF to Fight Online Child Sexual Abuse Imagery

In an historic announcement today, Bermuda launches a dedicated Internet Watch Foundation (IWF) Reporting Portal, to allow web users to report images and videos of child sexual abuse safely and anonymously. The launch comes as part of an IWF initiative made possible by funding from the UK Foreign & Commonwealth Office Cyber Security Capacity Building Programme. It will provide a quick and easy way for citizens to report online images and videos of child sexual abuse, to a safe and anonymous hotline. A planned roll-out of the IWF Reporting Portal is happening simultaneously in 12 UK Overseas Territories. These include: Akrotiri and Dhekelia Anguilla Ascension Islands Bermuda



Four Arrested, Suspected Cannabis Seized

A few minutes after 7pm on Wednesday police executed a warrant under the Authority of PACE, at a residence on Henry Vale Road just off of Keith Hall Road in Warwick. As a result 4 persons (three males and one female) were arrested for possession and cultivation of a substance believed to be cannabis. An active investigation into this matter is now underway.



Arrests in Connection With Patrick Dill Murder, Firearms Warrant

The Bermuda Police Service can confirm that two men have been arrested  and are in police custody in connection with the murder of 26 year old Patrick Dill. Police are still interested in anyone who may have any information on this incident to contact the Serious Crime Unit on 247-1739, 295-0011, or the confidential Crime Stoppers hotline on 800-8477.

Acting Detective Chief Inspector Mark Clarke - About 10:45pm Saturday, 21st May 2016, the Bermuda Police Service received multiple 911 calls of report of gunshots in the area of Crossland Lane, Pembroke. Shortly thereafter a male attended King Edward Memorial Hospital, in the company of a family member. Despite the best efforts of members of The Emergency Department he succumbed to his wounds.



17 Year Old Male Dies in Smith's Parish Collision

At approximately 10:52pm Saturday 21st May 2016, first responders attended a report of a serious road traffic collision located at the top of Collectors Hill, Smith's Parish involving three vehicles (2 motor bikes & 1 motor car). As a result  a 17 year old Sandys male who was riding an auxiliary cycle was taken to the hospital where he later was pronounced dead. No further information will be given until the next of kin has been notified.



Man Shot in Crossland Lane, Pembroke Area

At 1045pm Saturday night (May 21st, 2016), police attended a report of a firearms incident that took place at Crossland Lane in Pembroke. Early information indicates that a 27 year old Pembroke man was shot and subsequently transported by private vehicle to the hospital. The scene has been cordoned off and a full investigation into the incident is now underway.



Appeal for Reported Missing Person Jevon Daniels

Sergeant Jason Smith of the Serious Crime Unit - "On Thursday the 19th May, 2016, the BPS received a missing person report that Jevon Daniels 35yrs of agehas not been seen since Monday 16th May, 2016. The circumstances surrounding his disappearance are sketchy at present, however, initial police investigations conducted so far indicate that there is a real concern that he could be in danger and there is cause for concern of his well-being. Several family members and associates of Jevon Daniels have been interviewed and they too are concerned about his well-being.



Reported Armed Robbery

At 5:15pm on Friday police attended a report of an armed robbery that took place at the entrance to the former Pink Beach Hotel in Smith's. It appears that a construction site manager was turning into the property when two males on a motorcycle stopped him in his car and pointed what appeared to be a firearm and made demands of cash. The victim stated that he had no cash resulting in one of the suspects snatching his chain. Both males then made good their escape on a motorcycle.

Motorcyclist Injured in Early Morning Collision With Truck

At 1:30am police and first responders attended a report of a road traffic collision that took place on South Road in Southampton. Details at this point are unclear but it appears that a truck and a motorcycle collided and as a result the 35-year-old rider of the motorcycle was taken to the hospital where he is being treated for serious head injuries and leg injures.As of this morning the the 35 year old Paget man is in the ICU in stable condition.



Marine Search for Motorcyclist After Flatts Bridge Collision [Updated]

At 12:13am police and first responders received a report of a single vehicle road traffic collision that took place on North Shore Road in Smith's involving a 39 year old Pembroke man on a motorcycle. Details are sketchy at this stage but it appears that the cycle struck the Flatts Bridge and the rider may have been catapulted into the water. Presently, officers from Marine Section as well as private vessels have commenced a search in the area and the relevant officers from the BPS are processing the scene.



Firearm Warrant Executed in Sandys Parish

At 4:27pm police executed a firearms warrant at two residences just off of Main Road in Sandys. As a result the area surrounding the two dwellings (Hook and Ladder Lane and Gilbert Lane) were cordoned off whilst the operation took place. The roads are now open and the scene is still being processed. More information will follow.

The Bermuda Reserve Police is calling for all former Reserve Officers who wish to be photographed for the Reserve Police History book to meet at City Hall on Sunday April 3rd 2016 at 1pm sharp. Two Female Drivers Injured in Smith's Parish Collision

At 9:07pm (Saturday) police and first responders attended a report of a two vehicle collision that took place on Middle Road in the area of Store Hill.It appears that a woman was traveling east in her car on Middle Road when she lost control of her vehicle and collided with a woman in a car traveling in the opposite direction. This resulted in one of the women being pinned in her car, with the Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service being called to extricate the woman out of her vehicle.



Driver Arrested After Reported Single Car Collision in Devonshire

Police and first responders attended a report of road traffic collision that took place on North Shore Road in Devonshire, 200 meters east of Barkers Hill at 6:27pm on Saturday.It appears that a female was traveling west on North Shore Road when she lost control of her car and made contact with the wooden guard rail.  The woman was assisted out of her car by a man who lived in the area and she escaped with minor injuries to her body.



Rumours of Military Assistance for Current Civil Protest Unfounded

Assistant Commissioner of Police Antoine Daniels - "Currently there are a number of rumours circulating throughout the Bermuda community, electronic and social that suggest overseas military assistance has been summoned to assist the Bermuda Police Service (BPS) during this period of civil protest and demonstrations. These rumours are not true as the BPS overarching principle of policing public protests is to facilitate free speech while protecting the rights of everyone.



Students Involved in Fight

At 3:49pm on Monday March 7th police received a report of a large group of students fighting in the area of the round-a-bout of Palmetto Road and Dock Hill Devonshire. The fight involved combatants using helmets, sticks and rocks. Upon police arrival the students dispersed in the area and the identity of those involved are unknown at this point. Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with any information to contact police on 295-0011.
