Detective Chief Inspector Na’imah Astwood – Over the past weekend the Bermuda Police Service responded to two separate and unconnected reports of stabbings.
The first incident occurred around 3:00am on Sunday, March 5th, 2017.
Police initially responded to a report of a disturbance on Front Street in the City of Hamilton, in the vicinity of Bermuda Bistro at the Beach.
Fatal Stabbing & Injury Stabbing Not Believed to be Linked

Around 11pm Sunday, March 5th police and first responders were dispatched to a reported disturbance along Crow Lane in Pembroke, in the vicinity of Blue Waters Anglers Club.
It appears that two men were involved in an altercation.
One of the men involved, a 28 year old Devonshire man, was injured and rushed via ambulance to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Second Road Fatality of 2017: Rochelle Butterfield

The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 47 year old Rochelle Butterfield and extends condolences to her family and friends.
It has since been confirmed that Mrs. Butterfield was the pillion passenger on a motorcycle ridden by her 51 year old husband in a westerly direction (not east as initially reported) when they went off the road along Kindley Field Road, St. George's in the vicinity of Stone Crusher Corner around 1:30am Wednesday, March 1st.

Around 1:30am Wednesday, March 1st police and first responders were dispatched to a reported serious single vehicle motorcycle crash on Kindley Field Road in St. George's.
Initial information suggests that a male motorcyclist believed to be a 51 year old Pembroke man and his female pillion passenger, believed to be a 47 year old Pembroke woman, were traveling in an easterly direction when they went off the road.
Reported Collision in Southampton [Updated]

Around 2:45pm on Saturday, February 25th police and first responders were dispatched to a reported collision on Middle Road in Southampton near the junction with Lighthouse Road.
Details remain limited at this time.
However, it appears that a female motorcyclist was injured and taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment.
Sudden Death of Robin M. Simmons

The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 54 year old Robin M. Simmons and extends condolences to his family and friends.
The lifeless body of Mr. Simmons was discovered inside a Mount View Road, Pembroke apartment around 2:50pm Wednesday, February 22nd.
He was then pronounced dead at the scene by an on call doctor at 3:30pm that day.

Around 2:50pm on Wednesday, February 22nd police and first responders were dispatched to a reported sudden death at a Mount View Road, Pembroke residence.
The lifeless body of a 54 year old man was found at that location and currently the scene is being processed by the relevant police personnel.
Inquiries continue, however initial information does not suggest any suspicious circumstances.
Reported Missing Teenager: India Smith [Located]

The Bermuda Police Service is appealing for the public’s assistance in locating 15 year old India Smith.
Ms. Smith is described as brown complexioned, 5 feet 7 inches tall weighing approximately 200 pounds, with short brown hair.
The teenager was apparently last seen in Devonshire wearing grey Adidas sweatpants and a black and grey shirt around 11:30am Friday, February 17th.
However, subsequent information suggests that she was at an Ord Road, Warwick residence Saturday morning (February 18th) – although it is unclear if she was wearing the same clothing at that time.
Truck Crashes Over Embankment in Hamilton Parish [Updated]

Around 2:30pm on Friday, February 17th police and Bermuda Fire & Rescue Service personnel responded to a reported collision in Hamilton parish involving a truck.
Details are limited at this time. However, initial information suggests that the truck went over an embankment in the Cottage Hill Road, Abbot’s Crescent area.
Sudden Death of Stephen Wilson

The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 57 year old Stephen Wilson and extends condolences to his family and friends.
Mr. Wilson’s lifeless body was discovered inside a Tommy Fox Road, St. George’s residence around 8:15pm Monday, February 13th.
He was then pronounced dead at the scene by an on call doctor at 10:18pm that day.

Search Warrants Executed In Connection With Ongoing Investigation

Police officers from the Organized and Economic Crime Department of the BPS executed search warrants at two medical offices on Saturday 11th February in connection with an ongoing investigation.
The timing of the warrants was intended to minimize the impact on the businesses and their clients.
A number of records were seized during the searches.

The police have a duty to assist those who wish to exercise their rights to participate in peaceful and lawful protest. Such protest activity must not use, advocate, or incite violence, and it must not break any laws. The police also have a duty to protect the Rule of Law, by ensuring that protestors do not obstruct the rights and responsibilities of other people.
Sudden Death of Ra'Shun Trott

The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 34 year old Ra'Shun Trott and extends condolences to his family and friends.
It has now been confirmed that Mr. Trott was discovered in an unresponsive state inside a North Court Avenue, Pembroke residence after what is believed to be an industrial accident around 5:45pm Tuesday, February 7th.
Despite life saving efforts at the scene which continued as he was transported via ambulance to hospital, Ra'Shun was pronounced dead at 6:20pm that day.

Around 5:45pm on Tuesday, February 7th police and first responders were dispatched to a reported medical emergency at a North Court Avenue, Pembroke residence.
It appears that a 34 year old man was found in an unresponsive state inside the home.
EMTs performed CPR on the man at the scene and then transported him via ambulance to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
BPS Regrets to Announce Death of Ms. Shanda Scott

The Bermuda Police Service regrets to announce the death of a serving member of our support staff, Ms. Shanda Scott. Shanda tragically passed away on Saturday, 4th February from a medical condition.
Shanda was a reliable, conscientious and skilled member of the finance department team. She is fondly remembered for her obliging nature and energetic approach.

Acting Detective Inspector Kenten Trott - The Bermuda Police Service can confirm the death of Jahni Terrence Kyle Outerbridge as the man who was shot last night at the Mid-Atlantic Boat & Sports Club, North Shore Road, Devonshire.

Around 11:20pm on Sunday, January 29th police officers responded to a report of gunshots at Mid-Atlantic Boat Club on North Shore Road in Devonshire.
Initial information was that one person was shot and taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance.
That individual, believed to be a 31 year old Devonshire man, later succumbed to his injuries.
Update: Weekend Traffic Advisory for Harbour Road, Paget

Members of the public are reminded that Bermuda Waterworks Limited will continue carrying out emergency repair work to their water main on Harbour Road this weekend.
To facilitate the repairs a section of Harbour Road Paget, between Pomander Road and Lovers Lane, will be closed to all vehicles and pedestrians.
Police officers will assist with traffic management from 2pm until 8pm Saturday (January 28th).
