Sudden Death of Rohan Simons

The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 45 year old Rohan Simons and extends sincere condolences to his family and friends.
Mr. Simons was found in an unresponsive state around 11:10am Sunday, June 25th at a property in the Spar Lane, Craddock Road Sandys parish area and later pronounced dead at that location by an on call doctor.
As previously stated foul play is not suspected. However, an autopsy is anticipated.

Around 11:10am Sunday, June 25th police and first responders were dispatched to a report of an unresponsive male at a property in the Spar Lane, Craddock Road Sandys parish area.
The 45 year old man, believed to be from Sandys parish, was later pronounced dead at that location by an on call doctor.
No further information regarding the deceased will be provided at this time, until his next of kin have been notified.
Seventh Road Fatality for 2017: Brian Anderson

The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 63 year old Brian Anderson and extends sincere condolences to his family and friends.
Mr. Anderson, an American visitor said to be from Arizona, was riding a rental cycle with his 11 year old granddaughter as pillion passenger along South Road in Devonshire around 5pm Monday when a collision occurred with a car being driven in the opposite direction near the junction with Brimstone Hill.

Around 5pm today (Monday, June 19th) police and first responders were dispatched to a reported two vehicle collision on South Road in Devonshire near the junction with Brimstone Hill involving a rental cycle and a car.
Details remain limited.
However, it appears that the rider, believed be a 63 year old man, was traveling with a young female pillion passenger, believed to be a 10 year old girl, when the collision occurred.
JSEOD Partner with UK EOD for Safe Disposal of Unexploded Ordnance

Sea conditions on Friday 16th June prevented the Joint Services Explosives Ordnance Disposal (JSEOD) team, made up of members of the Bermuda Police Service and Royal Bermuda Regiment, from detonating recently located items in the Chaplin Bay area that have been confirmed as military ordnance from World War II.
Working in partnership with UK EOD experts, another attempt will be made Tuesday, 20th June using the safest method of disposal.
Disposal of Unexploded Ordnance Found Off Chaplin Bay

The Joint Services Explosives Ordnance Disposal (JSEOD) team, made up of members of the Bermuda Police Service and Royal Bermuda Regiment, will conduct an operation off Chaplin Bay tomorrow morning, Friday, 16th June, to detonate recently discovered unexploded military ordnance.
The public may hear a loud noise similar to thunder during the process and the beach will be cordoned off by the Royal Bermuda Regiment to prevent public access.

Sudden Death of American Visitor Thomas Power

The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 81 year old Thomas Power and extends sincere condolences to his family and friends.
Mr. Power, said to be from Virginia, got into difficulty while swimming near the beach at Pompano Beach Club in Southampton around 11:40am Tuesday, June 13th.
The American visitor was assisted to shore and CPR was performed.
Fresh Appeal for Witnesses: Patrick Dill Murder Investigation

The Bermuda Police Service is renewing appeals for information on the circumstances surrounding the death of 26 year old Patrick Dill, which is being treated as a murder investigation.
Patrick Dill was shot outside of his residence on Crossland Lane, Pembroke about 11pm Saturday 21st May 2016.
The investigation is ongoing and information has come to the attention of the investigating officers that there may have been area residents outside at the time of this shooting.
BPS Addresses MP Crockwell Sudden Death Voice Note Allegations

The Bermuda Police Service has verified that a voice note circulating on social media with alleged circumstances of MP Shawn Crockwell’s sudden death did not come from a police officer.
The contents of the voice note are disturbing in that they make sensational and speculative comments about the scene that are not true.
It has been confirmed that the voice on the recording belongs to a member of the Bermuda Fire & Rescue Service.
Reported Disturbance at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital [Updated]

Around 5pm Sunday, June 11th police officers responded to a reported disturbance at the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.
Initial information suggests that two men visiting the hospital were involved in an altercation in a public area of the second floor general wing, with one said to have brandished a bladed article.
The 35 year old man and 28 year old man involved were injured and apparently sustained non-life threatening wounds.

The Bermuda Police Service regrets to announce the death of Mr. Shawn Crockwell JP MP.
We extend our sincere condolences to his family, colleagues and friends.
Mr. Crockwell was found in an unresponsive state at a Hamilton parish residence around 4pm today (Saturday, June 10th).
He was subsequently pronounced dead at the scene by the attending doctor.

Sixth Road Fatality for 2017: Kenneth Simmons

The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 46 year old Kenneth Simmons and extends sincere condolences to his family and friends.
Mr. Simmons was seriously injured when the motorcycle he was riding collided with a truck around 11pm Friday, May 19th on Harrington Sound Road in Smith’s parish near Odyssey Drive.
He was initially treated in the Intensive Care Unit at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital before being airlifted overseas for further medical treatment.
Two Injured Men Recovering: Hamilton Harbour Fatal Boat Collision

At last check today, Sunday June 4th, the 69 year old New Zealand man and 26 year old UK man injured in Thursday night’s Hamilton harbour fatal boat collision were in stable condition and continuing to receive treatment at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital (KEMH).
In due course it is anticipated that the UK man, currently being treated in the Intensive Care Unit, will be airlifted overseas for further medical treatment – while the New Zealand man, who was recently transferred from the Intensive Care Unit to a general ward, is expected to be discharged from KEMH later today.
Investigation Continues: Fatal Boat Collision in Hamilton Harbour

The Bermuda Police Service can confirm that around 10:40pm Thursday 1st June 2017 a 26 year old local male resident was driving a 17 ft. centre console vessel from Front Street Ferry Terminal towards White’s Island.
The boat collided with a 9 ft. Zodiac inflatable carrying three visitors to our island who were thrown overboard.

Around 10:50pm Thursday, June 1st marine police and first responders were dispatched to a reported collision involving vessels in Hamilton harbour.
Details are limited at this time. However, it appears that three smaller boats were involved with four people injured, three men and one woman.
All four were rushed to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance, where the woman was pronounced dead.

The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 41 year old Michael Skinner and extends sincere condolences to his family and friends.
Mr. Skinner was seriously injured in a reported single vehicle motorcycle crash around 9:15pm Saturday, May 27th.
It is now understood that the motorcycle he was riding struck a sidewalk along North Shore Road Pembroke near Church Lane, in the vicinity of Grace Methodist Church.

Around 9:15pm Saturday, May 27th police and first responders were dispatched to a reported serious single vehicle motorcycle crash on North Shore Road in Devonshire near the junction with Bandroom Lane.
The injured rider, believed to be a 41 year old Pembroke man, was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance where he was later pronounced dead.
