Reported Serious Single Vehicle Collision on Vesey Street [Updated]

Police and first responders attended a report of a road traffic collision that took place on Vesey Street in Devonshire at 12:24pm today. Upon police arrival it was ascertained that a female was trapped under a car. Bermuda Fire and Rescue were on the scene and extricated the woman from under the car. She was transported via ambulance to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital where she is being treated for serious injuries.



Man Seriously Hurt in Reported Single Vehicle Motorcycle Crash [Updated]

At 3:10am police and first responders attended a single vehicle road traffic collision that took place on Mullet Bay Road just west of Godet and Young Hardware Store. Details are still emerging but a 27 year old male was found next to a motorcycle. The male was taken to the hospital with serious head injuries and the area has been cordoned off while the scene is being processed.



Sudden Death of 64 Year Old Man [Updated]

At 1:10pm today (Monday) police and other first responders attended the scene of a road traffic collision involving a mini bus and a car located at Somerset Road and Mangrove Bay Road, Sandys parish. It was reported that the driver of the van, a 64 year old man, as a result of a medical incident was rendered unconscious and his van rolled into a car. EMS personnel arrived on the scene and transported him immediately to King Edward VII Memorial Hopsital via ambulance, however he was pronounced dead at 2pm by a hospital doctor.



Sudden Death of 51 Year Old Woman in St. David's [Updated]

Police and first responders attended a report of an incident that took place at a residence on Cove Valley Lane in St. David's at 3:58pm today (Saturday). Upon police arrival it was noticed a 51 year old female was found in a non-responsive state and pronounced dead. No further information will be given until the next of kin has been notified.



Car Overturns Injuring Elderly Woman

Police and first responders are presently attending a report of an overturned vehicle at the junction of Cobbs Hill and South Road. Details are still unfolding but it appears that an elderly female was driving her car when she lost control, resulting in the car overturning. Traffic is being diverted while the scene is being processed and the condition of the elderly female is unknown at this time.



Search Warrants Executed: 3 Firearms & Large Quantity of Drugs Seized

Commissioner of Police Stephen Corbishley – The Bermuda Police Service can confirm that officers executed several search warrants in the Curving Avenue, Pembroke area Wednesday, December 19th and Thursday, December 20th. In total 3 firearms and a large quantity of drugs was recovered. This represents a significant firearms recovery with three firearms and just under $1 million dollars’ worth of drugs being taken off Bermuda’s streets.



Memorial Procession Route for Retired Commissioner of Police Mr. Frederick ‘Penny’ Bean OBE QPM

Motorists, area businesses and members of the public are reminded that the following temporary road closure and parking restrictions will be in effect today (December 17th) for the 2pm funeral and memorial procession in remembrance of retired Commissioner of Police Mr. Frederick ‘Penny’ Bean OBE QPM (as outlined in the December 12th City of Hamilton traffic notice). Temporary traffic management measures will also be in effect to allow for the passage of the memorial procession.



Pedal Cyclist Sustains Serious Eye Injury [Updated]

Police and first responders attended a report of a road traffic collision that took place at approximately 6:39pm tonight (Saturday). It appears that a cyclist fell off his bicycle on Dunscombe Road, Warwick and as a result, the rider has suffered a serious eye injury and the roads have been blocked off while the scene is being processed.

The Christmas Season does not diminish this responsibility in any way. The Christmas Season is upon us. It is a time for celebration and get-togethers. House parties and office parties are scheduled. Investigation Regarding the Murder of 33 Year Old Paul Johnson

Chief Inspector Arthur Glasford – At 2:59am today (December 10th) the peace and tranquillity of the early morning hours was disturbed as police received several 911 calls reporting gunshots in the area of Rambling Lane in Pembroke. Upon police arrival they came upon a male lying on the ground outside of his residence. Police commenced CPR and other lifesaving measures and he was subsequently taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital where time of death was certified at 3:33am.



Shooting On Rambling Lane [Updated]

Police and other first responders attended a report of a firearms incident that took place outside of a residence on Rambling Lane in Pembroke at 3 am this morning (Monday). Details are still emerging, but it appears that a 33 year old male was shot outside of his residence and taken to the hospital via ambulance where he was subsequently pronounced dead. No further information on the deceased will be given until the next of kin have been notified.



Tribute to Former Commissioner of Police Mr. Frederick Bean

Commissioner of Police Mr. Stephen Corbishley – The Bermuda Police Service mourns the loss of former Police Commissioner, Mr. Frederick Colborn "Penny" Bean. When I received the call last evening alerting me on the passing of our late Commissioner, I immediately began to reflect on all of the powerful sentiments that were expressed to me in the short time I have been on the island about the character of Mr. Bean by serving and former officers.



4th Annual 'B' Watch Central Give a Child a Christmas

This afternoon (Thursday 6th December), ‘B’ Watch Central helped to make Christmas extra special for two primary school students. This is the 4th year of the community initiative they call “Give a Child a Christmas.” Each year the Watch selects a school from the central parishes and asks the school guidance counselor to identify two students, one male and one female, whose families may need a helping hand during the Christmas holiday.

Two Firearms Incidents: St. Mary's Road & Happy Valley Road [Updated]

The Bermuda Police Service responded to two firearm incidents tonight. The first incident took place on St. Mary’s Road in Warwick at 7:46pm when two men on a motorcycle shot at a residence in the area. No one was injured and the suspects left the scene. The second incident took place at 8:05pm on Happy Valley Road where two males on a motorcycle opened fire on a male who was walking in the area.



Motorcyclist Injured in Hamilton Parish Crash [Updated]

Police and first responders attended a report of a single vehicle collision that took place on Harrington Sound Road in Hamilton Parish at 6:50pm. It appears that a male was traveling on that said road when he lost control of his motorcycle and collided with a wall. The man was taken via ambulance to the hospital where he is presently being treated for injuries that are believed to be serious.



Elderly Female Pedestrian Struck By Car on Dundonald Street [Updated]

Please be advised, an 86 year old pedestrian was knocked down outside of Masters in the City of Hamilton. Traffic has been diverted from the area whilst the scene is being processed. Condition of the pedestrian is unknown at this time. Update: The 86 year old lady was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital where she is being treated for non-life threatening injuries. Dundonald Street is now re-opened to traffic.



Sudden Death of 42 Year Old James Tucker

The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 42 year old Mr. James Tucker and extends sincere condolences to his family and friends. Mr. Tucker was found in an unresponsive state inside an apartment at a Somerset Road, Sandys parish property around 11:15am Tuesday, November 20th and later pronounced dead at the scene by an on call doctor. Foul play is not suspected and a cause of death is being examined.

ARIN-CARIB Media Release - Criminal justice practitioners and experts from around the globe are attending the 2018 Annual General Meeting of the Asset Recovery Inter-Agency Network for the Caribbean (ARIN-CARIB). The meeting is taking place in St Vincent 14-16 November. Participants are discussing the recovery of criminal proceeds, which involves stripping criminals of their benefits from crime. Prime Minister, Hon. Dr. Ralph Gonsalves gave the keynote address.

The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 50 year old Mr. Leonard Wayne and extends sincere condolences to his family and friends. Mr. Wayne was found in an unresponsive state inside an apartment at a Mount Wyndham Drive, Hamilton parish property around 3:35am Monday, November 12th and later pronounced dead at the scene by an on call doctor. Foul play is not suspected and a cause of death is being examined.
