At a 3pm ceremony held Friday, July 19th, Commissioner of Police Stephen Corbishley officially renamed the Community Meeting & Media Room on the ground floor of Hamilton Police Station in memory of the late Commissioner of Police (Retired) Frederick C. B. ‘Penny’ Bean.
Commissioner Bean’s wife Mrs. Romaine Bean and members of his family as well as three former managers of the Community/Public & Media Relations office (retired Chief Inspector Roger Sherratt, Ms. Evelyn James Barnett and Mr. Dwayne Caines) attended Friday’s ceremony.
15 Year Old Brittonie Taylor Reported Missing Again [Located]

The Bermuda Police Service is once again appealing for the public’s assistance in locating 15 year old Brittonie Taylor.
He was reported missing last night (Saturday, July 20th) from the Aeolia Drive, Devonshire area.
The young man is described as dark complexioned, approximately 5 feet 7 inches tall of slim build weighing around 130 pounds with his hair in an Afro and was last seen wearing black sweatpants as well as a black top.
Apparently the teen is known to travel on foot, by bus or taxi – and is understood to frequent the My Lord’s Bay Lane, Hamilton parish area.
Man Arrested in Connection With Local ‘Drill’ Music Video Promoting Violence Against Police Officers

The Bermuda Police Service (BPS) is aware of a local ‘Drill’ music video being circulated on social media promoting violence against police officers.
While freedom of speech is protected under law, inciting violence is not and we thoroughly condemn the message being promoted in this video – or any communication that suggests or threatens violence against any member of the public.

The Bermuda Police Service continues to appeal for the public’s assistance in locating 15 year old Brittonie Taylor.
The young man is described as dark complexioned, 5 feet 6 inches tall of slim build weighing approximately 130 pounds with ‘twists’ in his hair.
He was apparently last seen around 8:10am Wednesday, July 10th in the Bakery Lane, Pembroke area – is known to travel on foot – and is understood to frequent the Crawl, Dub City, My Lord’s Bay, Hamilton parish area.
So far efforts by police to locate him have been unsuccessful.
Anyone with any information on the whereabouts of 15 year old Brittonie Taylor is encouraged to call the main police telephone number 295-0011 as soon as possible.
Update: Tuesday, July 16th - The Bermuda Police Service would like to thank the public for their assistance in locating 15 year old Brittonie Taylor.
He was located earlier this evening safe and well.
Reported Disturbance at St. George’s Cricket Club [Updated]

Around 11pm Sunday, July 14th police and ambulance personnel responded to a reported disturbance at St. George’s Cricket Club.
Details are limited at this time. However, early information suggests that an altercation involving several individuals occurred.
So far it is understood that one man was injured.
Two Car Collision on South Road in Paget [Updated]

Around 2:40am Sunday, July 14th a two car collision occurred on South Road in Paget, between the Botanical Gardens and Tee Street.
Early information suggests that the two cars involved were being driven in opposite directions along South Road near the junction with Happy Talk Lane at the time.

Commissioner of Police Stephen Corbishley – “I have had opportunity to read in detail the Parliamentary Joint Select Committee’s (PJSC) report into the events of 2nd December 2016.
Whilst I was not the Police Commissioner at the time, I have responsibility to ensure the Bermuda Police Service (BPS) takes lessons from this day to ensure the way in which we manage such incidents in future, not least to secure the confidence of local communities in Bermuda that the BPS continues to be professional and operationally independent.
Ramesh Dusoruth Apprehended in The Netherlands

The Bermuda Police Service (BPS) can confirm that Ramesh Dusoruth was taken into custody in The Netherlands today (July 9th), at 10am local (Netherlands) time.
An Interpol Red Notice was issued for Mr. Dusoruth – beneficial owner of St. George’s Ltd. – after he absconded from Bermuda and failed to appear before Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 21st March 2019 to face allegations involving the misuse of several million dollars of investors’ money.
Reported Missing Person: 43 Year Old Tamara Smith [Located]

The Bermuda Police Service is appealing for the public’s assistance in locating 43 year old Tamara Smith.
Ms. Smith is described as brown complexioned, 5 feet 9 inches tall of medium build.
A family member reported her missing this afternoon (Thursday, July 4th).
She was apparently last seen on Sunday, June 30th in St. George’s and is known to frequent East End Mini Yacht Club, the Town of St. George’s and Spinning Wheel Nightclub.
There is concern for Ms. Smith, as it is understood she requires specific medication.
Appeal for Information: Yuval Joshua Abraham [Apprehended]

Acting Detective Superintendent Nicholas Pedro (Crime Division) – Following a complaint from Hiscox Group of Companies, officers of the Bermuda Police Service launched an investigation into Mr. Abraham, the former Chief Financial Officer.
The allegation was that Mr. Abraham abused his position in order to defraud the company of approximately $1.8 million. Mr. Abraham left Bermuda before an arrest could be made.
The following criminal charges have been approved:
Eight counts of Obtaining a Money Transfer by Deception, contrary to Section 346(1) of the Criminal Code;
Nine counts of False Accounting, contrary to Section 351(1)(b) of the Criminal Code;
One count of Attempting to Obtain a Money Transfer by Deception, contrary to Section 32 as read with Section 346(1) of the Criminal Code; and
One count of Money Laundering, contrary to Section 43(1)(e) of the Proceeds of Crime Act 1997.
Information has been laid before the Court and an arrest warrant was issued for Mr. Abraham.

Acting Detective Superintendent Nicholas Pedro (Crime Division) – Following a complaint from the Bermuda Monetary Authority (BMA) regarding St. George’s Ltd., detectives from the Financial Crime Unit of the Bermuda Police Service arrested Mr. Dusoruth, the company owner, regarding allegations of misuse of several million dollars of investors’ money.
Mr. Dusoruth was subsequently charged with the following offences:
One count of Fraudulent Inducement to Deposit or Invest – Contrary to Section 404 Criminal Code 1907;
One count of Transferring Criminal Property – Contrary to Section 43 Proceeds of Crime Act 1997; and
Three counts of Transmitting False Information to the Bermuda Monetary Authority – Contrary to Section 33 Bermuda Monetary Act 1969.
Mr. Dusoruth was bailed from police custody and subsequently failed to appear before Hamilton Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 21st March 2019. The Court has issued an arrest warrant for Mr. Dusoruth.
Four Arrested After Reported Disturbance at Bailey's Bay Cricket Club [Updated]

Around 8pm Wednesday, June 26th police officers responded to 911 calls regarding a disturbance at Bailey’s Bay Cricket Club.
Information suggests that an altercation occurred between two men, with one brandishing a bladed article.
At this time it is understood that one man sustained injuries to his hand – apparently unrelated to the altercation – and is currently being treated at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.
BPS Confirm Off Duty Constable Seriously Hurt in Motorcycle Crash

The Bermuda Police Service (BPS) can confirm that an off duty 22 year old BPS Constable is the man that sustained serious injuries in a single vehicle motorcycle crash that occurred around 2:45am Sunday, June 23rd on Crow Lane in Pembroke, while he was riding his private motorcycle.
The young man is currently receiving treatment in King Edward VII Memorial Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit.
Forum: How to Respond to & Report Inappropriate Personal Interactions

The Bermuda Police Service in collaboration with St. George’s stakeholders will be conducting a ‘Stranger Danger’ presentation – to raise awareness about how to respond to and report inappropriate personal interactions – for youth and their parents.

Three Years Later, Fiqre Crockwell Murder Investigation Continues

The Bermuda Police Service (BPS) is renewing the appeal for witnesses to come forward regarding the murder of Fiqre Crockwell, who was fatally shot on Woodlands Road in Pembroke minutes before 3am Monday, 20th June 2016.
This case remains an active murder investigation and today marks the third anniversary since Fiqre was killed.
Residents Reminded to be Vigilant Regarding Investment Scams

The Bermuda Police Service is once again advising all residents to remain vigilant regarding scams that appear to be legitimate investment opportunities.
A recent report to police highlighted a scam involving digital currency, where the website used for trading the electronic cash was found to be fraudulent.
The website address, www.iforexlive.co.uk, has since been suspended.

This was a terrible incident where an American tourist has been seriously injured.
The Bermuda Police Service (BPS) has responded in making payment to medivac her to receive care for her injuries in the United States.
