Temporary Closure Order Issued to East End Mini Yacht Club

Following the assault of a security officer by a group of men at East End Mini Yacht Club that occurred around 12:30am Saturday, August 24th, the Bermuda Police Service has exercised its authority under the Liquor Licence Act Section 51A to close East End Mini Yacht Club from 7pm Friday, August 30th until 7pm Saturday, August 31st.

The Commodore of the East End Mini Yacht Club, Mrs. Renall Caisey, then voluntarily agreed to keep the club closed until 10pm Saturday, August 31st.

Superintendent Claire Armes of the Community Policing Division issued the 24 hour temporary closure order Wednesday, August 28th.

It is hoped that this temporary closure will allow the management of East End Mini Yacht Club time to review the incident and improve the establishment’s security measures.

All incidents are under investigation. Police are appealing to members of the public who have witnessed these incidents or may have information pertaining to them to contact their respective Police Station, Police Headquarters at 295-0011 or the confidential Crimestoppers Hotline on 1 (800) 623-8477.
