Eighth Road Fatality for 2012

The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 18 year old Shae-Quan Astwood of Sandys parish.

Around 5pm on Sunday, September 30th Mr. Astwood was involved in a serious single vehicle motorcycle collision on South Road in Southampton in the vicinity of Turtle Bay Lane. Mr. Astwood was seriously injured and taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries.

Inquiries into this fatal collision are ongoing and any witnesses are encouraged to contact PC Gavin Richardson or PC Stephen Paynter at the Roads Policing Unit on 295-0011.

The Bermuda Police Service extends condolences to the family & friends of Mr. Astwood.

The death of Shae-Quan Astwood marks the eighth road fatality for 2012.

Mr. Astwood is the eighth road fatality for 2012 as an autopsy conducted on Mr. Jaha Mallory, who was initially identified as the seventh road fatality for 2012, later confirmed that Mr. Mallory’s death was not due to the two car collision he was involved in on Friday, August 10th 2012.


All incidents are under investigation. Police are appealing to members of the public who have witnessed these incidents or may have information pertaining to them to contact their respective Police Station, Police Headquarters at 295-0011 or the confidential Crimestoppers Hotline on 1 (800) 623-8477.
