At 11am on Friday, October 7th the Hamilton Police Station was officially opened by H.E. the Governor Sir Richard Gozney and the Minister for National Security the Hon. Wayne Perinchief. Also on hand were Commissioner of Police Michael DeSilva, Deputy Commissioner Mike Jackman, Assistant Commissioners Paul Wright and David Mirfield as well as other senior police officers and members of the media. Following the official opening, the dignitaries were taken on a tour of the newest facility, which is purpose built and PACE compliant. Though the station has been open for some months already, the official opening was delayed to coincide with this year's Police Week. In addition, all police stations were open to public on Friday for tours, and many members of the public including students took the opportunity to visit and learn more about our facilities. |
