Advisory Regarding 'Children's Meth' E-mail

The Bermuda Police Service is aware of an e-mail 'forward' that appears to be circulating around the island at the moment, regarding 'Children's Meth.' However, to the best of our knowledge this methamphetamine production method has not appeared in Bermuda, although there are a lot of drug trends happening throughout the United States and other neighbouring countries. We recommend that as part of drug prevention education, children should be taught that drugs can appear in various forms. Also, we would advise parents to reinforce the golden rules; not to accept food or candy from friends or strangers if they have not seen the food items purchased or made, or if the seal on the package is broken. In addition, parents should tell their children that if they are hungry or thirsty at a friend's home, they should get permission from an adult in the home before eating or drinking any food items which are unknown to them.

Arrest

The Bermuda Police Service would like to thank the public for their assistance in locating 28 year old Robert Damon Green. He was arrested by officers of the St. George's Criminal Investigation Unit yesterday after escaping lawful custody on Monday afternoon.

All incidents are under investigation. Police are appealing to members of the public who have witnessed these incidents or may have information pertaining to them to contact their respective Police Station, Police Headquarters at 295-0011 or the confidential Crimestoppers Hotline on 1 (800) 623-8477.
