Sudden Death

Chief Inspector Antoine Daniels Officer in Charge of Serious Crime Unit

The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 14 year old Rhiana Moore of Devonshire. Her lifeless body was discovered in the area of Blue Hole Park just off Dolphin Drive. Officers were dispatched to the scene and located the body, and a short time later death was certified by a physician.

I would like to take this opportunity to extend my condolences to the family and friends of the of Rhiana Moore.

An investigation has commenced and we are making steady progress. Presently there is one man in custody and we are actively pursuing a number of lines of inquiry. 

Police are appealing to anyone who may have seen or spoken with the victim Rhiana Moore anytime Friday May 30th to contact the Serious Crime Unit at 299-4315 or the confidential Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-623-8477.

We are currently awaiting the arrival of a forensic pathologist from overseas to conduct a full autopsy later during this week.

Good Afternoon.  First let me add my condolences to the family and friends of Rhiana Moore. I would like to reassure her family, friends and the entire community that the BPS has all the requisite resources in place to deal with this matter.

This incident hits at the very core of our society and the safety of our young people. 

This matter will be pursued vigorously in our efforts to bring this matter to a conclusion. I am imploring anyone with any information to please contact the Serious Crime Unit or the confidential Crime Stoppers hotline.

We have also liaised with officials at the school of the deceased and we have been assured that the appropriate resources have been put in place.


All incidents are under investigation. Police are appealing to members of the public who have witnessed these incidents or may have information pertaining to them to contact their respective Police Station, Police Headquarters at 295-0011 or the confidential Crimestoppers Hotline on 1 (800) 623-8477.
