Police Notice Pattern of Breaking & Entering in Warwick & Paget

The Bermuda Police Service has noticed a pattern of housebreaks in Warwick. There have been 4 housebreaks in Warwick this month, three of which occurred in the Keith Hall Road area during the afternoon of Valentine's Day and one the following evening at a nearby Harbour Road, Warwick residence. All of the incidents involved similar patterns where the culprit gained entry into the homes by either breaking a window or removing insecure window mounted air conditioners. These four incidents have all been linked to the same suspect. We are asking for anyone with any information about these incidents to call Detective Constable Donald on 278-5312. We are particularly interested in speaking with anyone who might have seen a man walking in the area around 2:30pm; he is described as a brown skinned male of slim build, approximately 5'9" - 5'11" tall with shoulder length dreadlocks. He is believed to be in his 20s and at the time, he was wearing a grey t-shirt with a multi-coloured plaid open front shirt over it.

Police have also noted an increase in the number of housebreaks in Paget during the month of January. Several of which are believed to have been committed by a single suspect - particularly at homes in the vicinity of the Railway Trail and Harbour Road/Salt Kettle Road in Paget. The culprit usually targets homes that have been left insecure or poorly secured. For advice on how to secure your home, contact the Crime Prevention Unit on 299-4331 or click here.

All incidents are under investigation. Police are appealing to members of the public who have witnessed these incidents or may have information pertaining to them to contact their respective Police Station, Police Headquarters at 295-0011 or the confidential Crimestoppers Hotline on 1 (800) 623-8477.
