Pedestrian Injured in Hamilton Parish Collision [Updated]

Police and other first responders attended a report of a road traffic collision that took place on North Shore Road near Trinity Church Road at 3:19pm. It appears that a car hit a pedestrian resulting in the male victim being taken to the hospital with what appears to be head injuries. The road has been cordoned off whilst the scene is being processed by the relevant police officers.

First Road Fatality of 2019: 40 Year Old Richardo Gibbs Hill

The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 40 year old Mr. Richardo Gibbs Hill and extends sincere condolences to his family and friends. Mr. Gibbs Hill was seriously injured when the motorcycle he was riding struck a wall along Harbour Road, Paget in the vicinity of Highwood Lane around 11:20pm Wednesday, January 16th.

Reported Serious Single Vehicle Motorcycle Crash on Harbour Road [Updated]

First responders attended a report of a road traffic collision that took place on Harbour Road in Paget in the area of Highwood Lane at 11:21 pm Wednesday. Details are still emerging but it appears that a male on a motorcycle was traveling on Harbour Road when he lost control of his cycle and collided with a wall. The man was rushed to the hospital and he is being treated for serious injuries.

The Commissioner of Police is pleased to announce the promotion of Sergeants Dennis Astwood, Karema Flood, Darren Glasford, Shakisha Minors, Ronald Taylor and Kenten Trott to the post of Inspector. All six were promoted by Commissioner Stephen Corbishley in front of family, friends and colleagues at a ceremony held in the Police Recreation Club hall, Prospect Devonshire 5:30pm today (January 11th).

Sudden Death of 74 Year Old Cheryl Eve

The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 74 year old Mrs. Cheryl Eve and extends sincere condolences to her family and friends. Mrs. Eve was found in an unresponsive state at home by a family member around 5:05pm Thursday, January 10th following a fire in her Verdmont Valley Drive, Smith’s parish apartment. Despite lifesaving efforts at the scene and as Mrs. Eve was rushed to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance, sadly she was later pronounced dead.

Sudden Death of 74 Year Old Woman in Smith's Parish [Updated]

Sadly, an unresponsive 74 year old woman rushed from the scene of a Verdmont Valley Drive, Smith’s parish house fire via ambulance earlier this evening (January 10th) was later pronounced dead at the hospital. No further information regarding the deceased will be provided at this time, pending notification of next of kin. An investigation regarding the circumstances of this sudden death as well as the cause of the fire is underway by the Bermuda Police Service and the Bermuda Fire & Rescue Service.

Sudden Death of 15 Year Old Kiara Paiva

The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 15 year old Ms. Kiara Paiva and extends sincere condolences to her family and friends. Ms. Paiva was found in an unresponsive state around 11:55am Monday, January 7th at her My Lord’s Bay Road, Hamilton parish residence by a family member. Despite lifesaving efforts at the scene and as the teenager was rushed to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance, sadly Ms. Paiva was later pronounced dead.

Around 11:55am today (January 7th) police and fellow first responders were dispatched to a report of a 15 year old girl in an unresponsive state at a My Lord’s Bay Road, Hamilton parish residence. Despite lifesaving efforts at the scene and as the teenager was rushed to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance, she was later pronounced dead. No further information regarding the deceased will be provided at this time, until her next of kin is notified.

Car Overboard Middle Road Southampton [Updated]

Around 5:20pm today (January 5th) police and fellow first responders were dispatched to a reported single vehicle car crash on Middle Road in Southampton. Initial information indicates that a car went off the road and ended up overboard, partially submerged, in the vicinity of Five Star Island. Apparently the driver, said to be a 60 year old man, escaped the crash unharmed and was the only person in the vehicle at the time.

Second Man Arrested in Connection With the Murder of Ronniko Burchall

The Bermuda Police Service can confirm the arrest of a 24 year old man in connection with the murder of Ronniko Burchall on 29th December, 2018. This arrest marks the second person taken into custody in connection with the enquiry, led by Acting Detective Inspector Jason Smith of the Serious Crime Unit. The investigating team continues to encourage anyone with information regarding this matter to contact them, or provide the information confidentially.

Fatal Boat Crash Investigation: Death of 24 Year Old Adrian Hassell

The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 24 year old Mr. Adrian Hassell and extends sincere condolences to his family and friends. Mr. Hassell, believed to be a Sandys parish resident, was seriously injured when the private powerboat he was traveling in struck rocks near Lefroy House in Sandys parish around 4:40am Tuesday, January 1st (New Year’s Day).

Death at Sea [Updated]

At 4:41am police received a call from a staff member at Lefroy House, Lagoon Road, Sandys requesting medical assistance for a male who came knocking on their door for help. Details are still unclear but it appears that 3 persons, two males and one female went on an excursion on an 18ft vessel and hit the rocks. One of the males was unresponsive and subsequently taken to the hospital via ambulance where he later was pronounced dead.

Commissioner of Police Mr. Stephen Corbishley - Over the last 72 hours we have seen an increase in tensions between gangs on the island. This came to a head with the murder of Ronniko Burchall on Saturday morning. At present a 31 year old man has been arrested in connection with this matter and a full investigation has commenced by the Serious Crime Unit. Over the next few days the public can expect to see heightened levels of policing activity throughout the island, and there may be some inconvenience as officers engage the public.

Acting Inspector of the Serious Crime Unit Jason Smith - On Friday 28 December 2018, St David’s Cricket Club held their annual Christmas party for their members and supporters at the clubhouse in St David’s. About 1:40am Saturday morning 29th December while patrons were socializing and enjoying the festivities, a male brandishing a firearm shot 30-year old Ronniko Rodney Burchall multiple times as he stood outside of the cricket club. The suspect left on foot and it is believed that he ran towards the general area of Cashew City, St. David’s.

Police responded to a report of a firearms incident that took place at 1:40am in St David's. Upon police arrival it was ascertained that a male was standing outside of the St. David's Cricket Club when a man walked up and shot him. The suspect left the area and the victim was taken to the hospital via the ambulance and his condition is unknown at this time.

Two Motorcyclists Hurt in Warwick Collision

Police and first responders attended a report of a road traffic collision that took place at 4:15pm today (Friday) on Middle Road Warwick 100 meters west of Keith Hall Road. It appears that a male on a motorcycle was traveling west on Middle Road when it appears he collided with a female on a motorcycle traveling in the opposite direction. Both victims were taken to the hospital and their condition is unknown at this time.
