Breaking & Entering

Around 9:15am on Saturday, Police received a report of a breaking and entering at a Harrington Sound Road, Smith's parish property. On arrival officers spoke with the complainant who stated that sometime between Saturday, October 1, 2005 and Friday, October 21, 2005 an unknown culprit gained entry into his dock house and stole two fluorescent lights and a HP Yamaha boat engine. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Weekend Activity

Over the weekend there was 1 person arrested on suspicion of impaired driving and 4 incidents of breaking and entering. There were also 21 damage only road traffic collisions, 9 road traffic collisions resulting in injury and 8 reports of missiles being thrown (mostly eggs).

The Bermuda Police Service has already received several reports of eggs being thrown at vehicles traveling in the following areas: Boaz Island, Hamilton parish, North Shore Road, Barrack Hill, Abbot's Cliff, Bulls Head Hill and Cedar Hill. As Halloween approaches, we would like to remind the public that it is an offence to throw eggs or any other missiles at property, vehicles or people. Anyone caught throwing missiles will be arrested and placed before the courts.

On Tuesday, October 25, 2005 (tomorrow) at 1pm on the Police Field in Prospect the Bermuda Police Service will hold a press conference to unveil its new PSU vehicles. Also on Tuesday, November 1, 2005 a press conference will be held in the Reserve Police Headquarters in Prospect to release the 3rd Quarter Crime Statistics. All media are invited to attend.
