Currently two men are in custody assisting Police with their investigation into the shooting death of 18 year old Jason Lightbourne. However, the Bermuda Police Service continues to appeal for witnesses to the incident, particularly anyone who may have been in the Ord Road/Sylvan Dell Road, Paget area between 3:30am and 4:30am on Sunday, July 23, 2006 to contact the Serious Crime Unit on 299-4315 or the confidential Crimestoppers Hotline on 1-800-623-8477. We would like to thank the public for their assistance so far, especially the residents of the Ord Road community and encourage any individuals who may have information that can assist the investigation to make contact with Police.
Burglary
At 12:15pm on Friday, Police attended a reported burglary at a Seabright Avenue, Paget residence. On arrival officers spoke with the complainant who stated that sometime between 10:15am and 11:30am that day, an unknown culprit gained entry while she was away from her home. The culprit stole a flat screen TV, an HP laptop computer and items of jewelry. A suspect was seen in the area and described as a black male of medium height, wearing a dark coloured T-shirt, sunglasses, khaki shorts and a dark coloured baseball cap. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
Around 8:30am on Friday, Police attended a reported burglary at a North Shore Road, Hamilton parish residence. On arrival officers spoke with the complainant who stated that sometime between 2:15pm on Thursday and 8am on Friday, an unknown culprit gained entry into his home. The culprit stole three watches. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
