Man Arrested After Altercation in the Spanish Point, Pembroke Area

Around 2:30pm Tuesday, December 18th police officers were dispatched to a reported assault in the Spanish Point, Pembroke area.

It appears that a 26 year old Pembroke man and a 38 year old Pembroke man (neighbours) had an altercation on a path between Stovell Bay Road and North Cote West over the flying of a kite, with the older man brandishing a bladed article.

The 26 year old sustained a stab wound to his shoulder. However, the injury was superficial and he declined medical treatment.

The 38 year old was subsequently arrested in connection with the incident.

Inquiries continue and any witnesses that have not already come forward are asked to contact the Criminal Investigation Department on 247-1744.

Driver Injured in Car Crash a Week Ago Discharged After ICU Care

At last check this morning (December 19th) the 49 year old male driver seriously injured in a single vehicle car crash on North Shore Road in Pembroke near the north gate of Government House at 10:08am Wednesday, December 12th had been discharged from hospital, after initially receiving medical treatment in the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit.
